Research Training Group
The International Research Training Group 'Interart Studies' supports excellent young researchers in their pursuit of a doctorate. It enables qualified students to write their doctoral theses within a discerning collaborative research environment.
The Research Training Group is funded by the DFG (German Research Foundation). Its key emphasis is on the qualification of doctoral researchers within the framework of a focused research programme and a structured training strategy. The aim is to prepare doctoral researchers for the complexities of the job market in science and academia and to simultaneously encourage early scientific independence.
Doctoral students take part in a comprehensive research programme. It includes a range of different events involving all members of InterArt – doctoral students, postdocs and professors – and also provides the opportunity to discuss the Research Training Group’s topics with visiting professors.
In addition, doctoral fellows are actively involved in an accompanying structured study programme designed to complement and extend their individual specializations.
The International Research Training Group provides incentives to encourage mobility and networking in the international scientific community. In particular, it supports cooperation and exchange with Copenhagen Doctoral School in Cultural Studies. In addition, the International Research Training Group is connected to Goldsmiths College of the University of London and to Columbia University, New York.
