Peter Szondi Institute is proud to host three different regular visiting professorships. They are assigned to writers and translators who teach for one semester. This situation, unparalled among German universities, helps to maintain a vital connection to contemporary literature. The three visiting professorships are a) the Samuel Fischer Visiting Professorship for Literature, funded by Freie Universität Berlin, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), S. Fischer publishers, and the Lecture Forum of the Georg von Holtzbrinck Publishing Group; b) the Visiting Professorship for German-Language Poetics, connected to the Berliner Literaturpreis, and annually granted by the Stiftung Preußische Seehandlung; c) the August Wilhelm von Schlegel Visiting Professorship for translation, funded by the Deutscher Übersetzerfonds e.V.
