An Introduction to Good Scientific Practice and Scientific Misconduct [two days]
The workshop covers the principles and rules of good scientific practice, the most important forms of scientific misconduct, the relevant regulations and support and complaint structures. The participants gain knowledge of the principles and rules of research misconduct,and the ability to apply this knowledge in one's own research context, i.e. awareness of conflicts related to research misconduct and normative aspects of research.
Objectives
This introductory workshop covers the basic elements of good scientific practice and research ethics to help participants avoid questionable practices and misconduct. For that, they learn about the basics of good scientific practice and apply them to their own cases. Finally, the participants work on strategies to deal with their discussed cases.
