Human Abilities | Centre for Advanced Studies
Human Abilities is a Centre for Advanced Studies in the Humanities (Kollegforschungsgruppe) funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG), starting 1st April 2020.
The project is jointly led by Dominik Perler (Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin) and Barbara Vetter (Freie Universität Berlin). Its goal is to better understand human abilities in both the cognitive and the agentive realm, and to do so with a view to all areas of philosophy where appeal to human abilities is made, both historical and systematic. It thereby also aims to foster intra-disciplinarity, the exchange between different parts of philosophy. The project will of course also interact with specialists from related areas such as psychology, law, and linguistics.
Human abilities is currently advertising a number of positions, both at postdoctoral and doctoral level.
