Researcher with an independent position (“eigene Stelle”) at the Freie Universität Berlin, Peter Szondi-Institut für Allgemeine und Vergleichende Literaturwissenschaft, with the project “Vulnus amoris. A Trajectory in Medieval Romance Literature” funded by the Fritz Thyssen Stiftung.

Research Interests

Medieval French and Occitan Literature. Arthurian romances and Trouvères. Troubadour poetry.  Cultural roots of Medieval literature in philosophical and medical treatises and in religious texts. Comparisons with Medieval Italian and Medieval Latin sacred and profane poetry and literature; Medieval Iconography: artistic representation of key literary themes in Medieval art - illuminated manuscripts, paintings and frescoes. Modern French Literature. Longue durée of Medieval themes in Modern French literature.
