Stephan Karschay vertritt im Sommersemester 2022 die Professur für Allgemeine und Vergleichende Literaturwissenschaft mit anglophonem Schwerpunkt am Peter-Szondi-Institut. Er ist außerdem Inhaber einer Juniorprofessur für Britische Literatur- und Kulturwissenschaft an der Universität Hamburg.
Vita
Stephan Karschay studierte Anglistik, Germanistik und Erziehungswissenschaften an der Universität Passau sowie am King’s College London und ist Alumnus der Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes sowie des Deutschen Akademischen Austauschdienstes. Von 2008 bis 2015 war er als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Lehrstuhl für Englische Literatur und Kultur der Universität Passau tätig. Stephan Karschays Monografie Degeneration, Normativity and the Gothic at the Fin de Siècle (Basingstoke: Palgrave Macmillan, 2015) wurde 2013 mit dem Britcult-Award der Deutschen Gesellschaft für das Studium Britischer Kulturen und 2014 mit dem Karl-Heinz-Pollok-Gedächtnispreis der Universität Passau ausgezeichnet.
